What does it cost?
We do not charge a fare, but we do suggest you make a donation to help cover our costs. This is a voluntary donation, and your journey can be free where necessary. However, without donations we should not be able to continue providing this service.
If you wish to make a donation we suggest a level of contribution that would help to cover our costs for that journey.
As an example, for local journeys within Alton we suggest £2, and for Basingstoke Hospital £12. For other destinations, see the list below and the document which can be downloaded from this page.
Our drivers do not accept tips. This is a very strict rule. We have to operate within the regulations laid out by His Majesty's Revenue and Customs, and tips count as income for drivers and would be declarable on their tax returns.
Suggested donations
The table below gives suggested donations for journeys from Alton town. If you live in one of the surrounding villages and this means your journey would be longer than a journey from Alton itself, please add £2.00 or so to these suggested donations. For example, if you live in Selborne and want to go to Basingstoke Hospital, we suggest a slightly increased donation of £14.00. But if you live in Selborne and want to go to Portsmouth, no additional donation is suggested, as Selborne is on the way from Alton to Portsmouth.
